Pokémon TCG Mega Dream ex Launch: Mega Evolution Era Redefined for Collectors & Players

The Pokémon TCG "Mega Dream ex" set is the highly anticipated Japanese High Class Pack releasing on November 28, 2025. It marks the first major "Mega Series" subset in the Mega Evolution era, with its English-adapted counterpart titled "Mega Evolution—Ascended Heroes" due in January 2026.

Set Highlights and Features

Set Size & Format: "Mega Dream ex" includes 193 main cards, with each 10-card booster pack guaranteeing at least one Pokémon ex or Mega Evolution Pokémon ex.

Mega Attack Rare (MA): A brand new rarity, Mega Attack Rare, debuts in this set, featuring full-art Mega Evolution Pokémon ex with bold, stylized text for signature attacks. These cards appear in a pop art style and swap the language of the attack—Japanese cards show English attack names and vice versa.

Notable New Cards: The set introduces Mega Dragonite ex, Mega Eelektross ex, Mega Froslass ex, and several others. Popular characters from Pokémon Legends: Z-A, such as Canari, also appear as supporters.

Reprints and Accessibility: The set contains both new Mega Evolutions and reprints of 2024–2025 meta-defining cards, making it a blend of nostalgia and competitive staples.

Special Art Rares: Collectors can hunt for spectacular SARs (Special Art Rares) like Mega Gengar ex and even a Marnie SAR, continuing High Class Pack tradition.

Gameplay and Collector Appeal

Every pack is designed to feel premium and rewarding, with exclusive holo patterns, new Poké Ball-themed energies, and the chance for rare full-art cards.

Inclusion of both new powerhouses and tournament-proven staples ensures broad appeal, attracting both collectors and competitive players.

English Release

The English-language set, "Mega Evolution—Ascended Heroes," mirrors the Japanese release and launches globally on January 30, 2026, with additional products and expansions slated later in 2026.

Overall, "Mega Dream ex" is shaping up to be a historic High Class Pack, refreshing the meta and trading landscape with a Mega Evolution revival, premium chase cards, and accessible reprints for both new and veteran players.
